The boss was making a dollar while the employees were only making a dime. Then, the boss took out a loan and paid himself a million dollars, leaving the employees with just a dollar. With his newfound wealth, the boss bought multiple houses to rent out and subsequently raised the rent by two dollars.
The employees found it impossible to compete with the boss or afford the rent he required. The boss encouraged them to "work hard, and someday..." However, the employees only earned enough to make it to work each day. To maintain this status quo, the boss gave two hundred thousand dollars to a lawmaker to ensure nothing changed. The lawmaker, influenced by the boss's wealth, agreed to stay silent, claiming that the workers had plenty of abundance for their hard work.
When lawmakers refuse to make a change, it falls to the employees to advocate for themselves.
Bring back usary laws and create new laws that limit how much an emoployer can make over their employees. We need to go back to the ratio of a dime to a dollar.
