Support Delete DOGE Act - Restore vital government services

To: Rep. Bonamici, Sen. Merkley, Sen. Wyden

May 9

A responsible government upholds its core functions and safeguards the well-being of its citizens. Rep. Sara Jacobs' proposed Delete DOGE Act seeks to rectify the severe disruptions caused by Elon Musk's reckless cuts to vital federal agencies and services. The bill would reinstate funding for critical operations like medical research, veterans' services, and aviation safety that have been compromised under DOGE's indiscriminate slashing. It is deeply concerning that Musk's businesses have benefited tremendously from billions in federal contracts while he undermines the very institutions that enable such partnerships. His actions prioritize profits over the public good, jeopardizing essential government functions and circumventing constitutional checks and balances. The unintended consequences of DOGE's haphazard cuts have already proven dire, from rehiring nuclear specialists to reinstating Ebola prevention and VA crisis hotlines. Continuing down this path would only further erode the nation's stability, security, and public trust. I urge you to support the Delete DOGE Act to restore funding for these indispensable government operations and services that protect and uplift all Americans. Reining in Musk's exploitation of taxpayer dollars for personal gain is a necessary step toward upholding our nation's commitment to serving the people, not corporate interests.
