Support the Resolution to Block Arms Sales to Israel. Please support Senator Sanders’ Joint Resolution of Disapproval (JRDs) to force votes in the Senate to block the sale of $8.56 billion in offensive U.S. weaponry to Israel. Sanders cited the human rights violations of Israel’s continued bombardment of Gaza and blockage of aid into Gaza in his JRD. Additionally, Israeli troops recently executed 15 Palestinian medics and buried them in a mass grave along with their ambulances, then plowed it over with military bulldozers. Attacking civilians and rescue personnel and blocking humanitarian aid violates principles outlined in the Fourth Geneva Convention, and assistance to any government which engages in a consistent pattern of human rights violations is prohibited under the United States Foreign Assistance Act of 1961. To continue funding the Israeli government’s bombardment and starvation of the people of Gaza is in direct violation of international and domestic law. The US must stop being complicit!
