Hold the president accountable for starting an unconstitutional war

To: Sen. Gallego, Rep. Stanton, Sen. Kelly

From: A constituent in Chandler, AZ

June 22

I am writing to express my deep concern and strong opposition to the recent decision by the President to bomb Iran without the constitutionally required authorization from Congress. This unilateral action not only endangers countless lives and risks sparking another endless war, but it also blatantly violates the War Powers Clause of the Constitution. No president should have the power to start a war without Congressional approval. I urge you to take a clear stand against this illegal and unconstitutional act. I ask that you publicly support efforts to hold the President accountable, including impeachment if necessary, and demand the removal of any officials involved in circumventing the rule of law. Please act to restore the balance of powers and protect our democracy from further erosion. I expect and hope you will uphold your oath to the Constitution.
