Oppose discriminatory anti-trans "Protecting Women's Private Spaces Act"

To: Sen. Stabenow, Sen. Peters, Rep. Kildee

From: A constituent in Davison, MI

December 10

The proposed "Protecting Women's Private Spaces Act" seeks to prohibit individuals from using single-sex facilities on federal property that do not correspond to their sex assigned at birth, with limited exceptions. This discriminatory legislation targets transgender and non-binary individuals, denying them access to restrooms and other facilities aligning with their gender identity. Such measures promote harmful stigma, marginalization, potential harassment, and put trans and non-binary people in considerable danger. As a society upholding equality and human rights, we must reject initiatives that enable discrimination against vulnerable communities based on gender identity or expression. I urge you to oppose this unethical and unconstitutional bill that undermines the dignity and wellbeing of your transgender constituents. Inclusive policies fostering acceptance and respect for all should be the priority.
