I am writing to express my growing frustration and disappointment with the continued support many elected Republicans are giving to Donald Trump while ignoring the damage being done to our democratic institutions and to the American people. The ongoing gerrymandering efforts across the country make the GOP look desperate to hold power rather than willing to earn support through policy and leadership. You may believe these tactics provide short term political advantages, but I believe they are ultimately going to backfire. Americans are increasingly tired of politicians manipulating districts, undermining public trust, and prioritizing party loyalty over democratic principles. Your constituents are paying attention. Many of us want leaders who are willing to stand up for the Constitution, for fair representation, and for the American people, not politicians who stay silent while supporting a man whose behavior and rhetoric continue to resemble that of an authoritarian who only cares about himself. At some point, silence becomes complicity. If you continue to place loyalty to Trump above the interests of your constituents and the integrity of our democracy, many voters will remember that when future elections come around. I urge you to publicly oppose further gerrymandering efforts and demonstrate that your loyalty is to the people you represent, not to one man.
