The deployment of military forces to US cities is horrifying and frightening. As a U. S. Army veteran it brings a figurative tear to my eye. There is no crisis in these cities they would provide even legal cover for such a move, much less actual justification for such a use (show) of force. For years, during Trump’s first term, and in the run up to his second I downplayed people’s talk of fascism. Now I see it is serious. Trump’s forcing political and personal loyalty on formerly independent agencies, his taking measures of control over the media, the creation of his own set or facts - and undermining “truth”, among other behaviors of the President and his administration do indeed point to the erosion o our democracy. Case in point Trump’s rumbling about Trump 2028. He’ll call it a joke, but he is planting the seeds, and will run with it and subvert the constitution if he can. So I am asking you to oppose the use of military in the streets of the United States. As well, I would ask that you oppose all of the administration’s consolidation of power, control of the media, and any anti-democratic activities.
