You need to speak out publicly against Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's purge of senior military officials and demand congressional oversight hearings immediately.
Hegseth has systematically fired experienced leaders, including Navy Secretary John Phelan, Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George, and Air Force Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Kruse, who led the Defense Intelligence Agency. Kruse was dismissed after his agency found that strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities were not as extensive as President Trump claimed. This is retaliation for telling the truth, not leadership.
These firings are happening while the U.S. conducts a naval blockade of Iran and has seized ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran says we violated the ceasefire. We need steady, experienced military leadership during a crisis, not political loyalists installed after purges.
Your silence makes you complicit. The Senate has constitutional authority over military appointments and oversight of the Defense Department. Use it. Demand testimony from Hegseth. Investigate whether these removals compromise national security. Make clear that politicizing military leadership during an active standoff with Iran is unacceptable.
I expect you to act, not issue a statement. This requires your voice and your vote.
