Forceful senate action required after Padilla arrest to protect democracy.

To: Rep. Jayapal, Sen. Murray, Sen. Cantwell

From: A constituent in Seattle, WA

June 13

After what happened to Padilla, senators must deny unanimous consent and use every tool possible to shut the Senate down. Based on outrageous violation of constitutional order and blatant attempts to silence opposition, immediate forceful action is required to protect democracy and reassert system of checks and balances against rogue administration. Full investigation into egregious misconduct is mandatory, but Senate cannot proceed with business as usual when a senator was arrested for simply asking a question. Drastic obstruction justified until those responsible held accountable through appropriate legal processes.
