The fact that seven of your colleagues voted to give ICE another ten billion dollars is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS and DISGRACEFUL. The seven Democrats who sided with Republicans were Reps. Henry Cuellar (Texas), Jared Golden (Maine), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Wash.), Laura Gillen (N.Y.), Don Davis (N.C.), Tom Suozzi (N.Y.) and Vicente Gonzalez (Texas). The least they could have done is fought for provisions, like stopping them from wearing masks, making them legally have to identify themselves just like the police, or have to wear uniforms and use official vehicles. This is beyond unacceptable. What a disgrace. You should have persuaded them to vote against funding ICE. While I appreciate that you were not one of them, I am writing to demand that you put pressure on any Democrat who is considering voting with Trump’s agenda, especially funding for his gestapo thugs. Congress is supposed to be a check on the other branches. But all we see is you wasting time and giving us excuse after excuse. This isn’t a game. People are dying. Everyone is terrified. We are constantly told we can’t afford universal healthcare because we “can’t afford it”. PLEASE. Ten billion dollars for ICE thugs. Over 20 billion to Israel. 20 billion to Argentina. We have the money, we just spend it on the war machine instead of helping our own people. Meanwhile, every member of Congress has full coverage healthcare, paid for with our tax dollars. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are not strong enough. Please replace them as your leadership with people who can fight. Mitch McConnell literally stopped President Obama from appointing a Supreme Court Justice while he was Minority Leader. Senator Schumer just sends strongly worded letters. It’s so embarrassing.
