Senate Democrats who failed to hold the line should be rebuked. Senators Schumer should no longer retain party leadership. The Senators who sided with Republicans acted irresponsibly and have betrayed their constituents badly. Now, thanks to their capitulation, we have nothing more than a promise that Republicans will “consider” ACA subsidies. A Republican promise is worth nothing. I respect Senators Warren and Markey deeply for continuing to put Americans first and voting for a better tomorrow always. Please make clear to your colleagues in the Democratic caucus that their voters are angry, disappointed, and hopeless. Democrats need a radical change in leadership, ideally someone with a spine.
