Protect reproductive rights, oppose abortion data reporting mandate

To: Sen. Blackburn, Rep. Cohen, Sen. Hagerty

From: A verified voter in Memphis, TN

March 10

The proposed Ensuring Accurate and Complete Abortion Data Reporting Act of 2025 would mandate states to provide comprehensive abortion data to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in order to continue receiving federal funding for family planning services under Medicaid. While having accurate data is valuable for public health purposes, this legislation raises concerns about infringing on reproductive rights and individual privacy. It could create barriers to accessing legal healthcare services and disproportionately impact marginalized communities. I urge you to prioritize protecting the bodily autonomy and constitutional rights of all people and oppose this legislation that could enable further restrictions on abortion access. Reproductive healthcare decisions should remain between a patient and their doctor, without undue government interference or mandates that compromise personal medical information.
