Crisis aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln -- Congress must intervene!

To: Sen. Peters, Sen. Slotkin, Rep. Bergman

From: A constituent in Traverse City, MI

August 12

The situation on the USS Abraham Lincoln is nothing short of disastrous. Sailors are exhausted, depressed, and living in deplorable conditions. Filthy surroundings, no shore leave, and no timeline for getting home. At least 6 have attempted to jump overboard. When members of our military are being mistreated to the point where suicide looks like an option, it's a crisis that must be dealt with immediately. We are the richest and most powerful country in the world. How can this be happening to our dedicated service members? And what is Congress going to do about it?
