Headline in the Washington Post: Trump aides struggle with how to spend $500 billion more on military WOW! That ‘big beautiful bill’ sure gave an a LOT of money to the military/DHS while cutting everything that might actually support the American people in truly significant ways. Imagine money for childcare. Senior care. Health care. Housing. SNAP benefits. Etc. etc. etc. Make you wonder about the Trump administration and Congress’ priorities. Almost like we’re gearing up for a police state at home — with Americans too depleted and depressed and stressed to resist — and forever wars abroad. To what end? A forever President Trump (whose banner flies over the DOJ like Big Brother)? I sure miss the compassionate America of my youth. The War on Poverty. Civil Rights. A clear pathway to citizenship for asylum seekers. (sigh) God bless America. God SAVE America.
