Do not allow the *Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality* to be gutted by illegal impoundment and cuts and interference. The Agency for Healthcare Research has saved thousands of lives and billions of dollars. We need it to continue-- urgently. But in July, the AHRQ sent letters terminating 104 grants focused on making care safer and improving outcomes. These interrupted grants are worth ca 94 million. Also: since Trump took office, 3/4 of its staff have either been fired or quit.-- including the managers who make grants. Congress should be REFUSING to PERMIT illegal impoundment and illegal interruption of congressionally appropriated funds. Congress should be protecting the lives and health and well-being of constituents. We DO NOT WANT billions to be spent on gilding statues, painting reflecting pools, and illegal wars of choice. Please: Hold hearings, use subpoena power, legislate and use all the tools at hand to protect the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality. Please reply to let me know what steps you will take. I am outraged that Congress is once again permitting impoundment and presidential overreach. Why is there money for bombs and reflecting pools and golden statues and ballrooms but not SNAP or this agency? Once again, as with so many Trump actions, deaths will result. I also ask you to impeach Trump for impoundment and overreach.
