I’m writing as a constituent and concerned citizen to express my strong support for continued federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), which supports both PBS and NPR.
As a parent and professional, I’ve seen firsthand the vital role public media plays in providing trustworthy news, quality educational programming, and cultural enrichment to communities across our country. From early childhood education on Sesame Street to in-depth journalism from NPR, public broadcasting is one of the few remaining sources of accessible, nonpartisan information that serves the public good—not private interests.
PBS and NPR reach millions of Americans, regardless of income, background, or geography. Cutting funding would disproportionately impact rural communities, low-income families, and schools that rely on these resources for learning, literacy, and civic engagement.
In a time of growing division and misinformation, we need institutions like PBS and NPR more than ever. I urge you to stand up for public media by supporting full federal funding for CPB in the upcoming budget.
Thank you for your time and your commitment to serving our community.
