I am writing to demand immediate, permanent legislative action to protect the absolute right of women and all individuals to complete bodily autonomy.
For too long, women’s fundamental rights have faced a repeating cycle of political attacks. Let me be clear: when government begins making healthcare and biological decisions on behalf of citizens, all personal freedom is lost. No state government, federal agency, private corporation, military entity, or religious organization has the right to dictate what an individual can or cannot do with their own body.
Opponents of reproductive freedom are actively trying to bypass the democratic will of the electorate by implementing structural, irreversible barriers to healthcare. These tactics include:
• Forced Pregnancy in Cases of Assault: Enacting and enforcing absolute abortion bans that lack exceptions for rape and incest, stripping survivors of their agency and legally forcing them to carry a pregnancy resulting from a crime.
• State Ownership of Biological Assets: Pushing fetal personhood framework like the Life at Conception Act (https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/722) that implicitly treats a woman's eggs and biological vessels as property of the state or federal government. We must explicitly codify that a woman retains sole ownership of her own eggs—an inherent biological asset that no state, federal, private, corporate, religious, or military entity has any claim over across land, air, sea, subterranean depths, or space.
• Weaponizing Executive Power: Pressuring federal agencies to enforce the 1873 Comstock Act (https://stateline.org/2026/08/10/anti-abortion-groups-urge-attorney-general-to-halt-mailing-of-abortion-pills/) to criminalize the mailing of abortion medications and clinical tools, creating a de facto national ban without Congress passing a new law.
• Interstate Lawfare: Suing blue states directly to overturn protective "shield laws," attempting to shut down interstate telehealth and stop doctors from mailing pills to patients living in restrictive states.
Bodily integrity is the foundation of liberty. I urge you to codify comprehensive protections that permanently insulate reproductive healthcare, biological property rights, and personal bodily decisions from government interference, corporate overreach, and religious mandates.
Our bodies, our choice.
