Science indicates greenhouse gas emissions present a grave threat to public health and the environment. Overturning the EPA's endangerment finding would undermine the legal basis for regulating planet-warming pollutants, contrary to overwhelming scientific evidence. The endangerment finding must be upheld based on robust data showing rising temperatures are fueling extreme weather, sea level rise, and other severe impacts. Ignoring this reality by revoking the finding is an unacceptable dereliction of the EPA's duty to protect people and communities. I urge maintaining the endangerment finding and continuing vital efforts to cut emissions in line with scientific consensus. Reversing course now would imperil public welfare for the benefit of polluting industries.
