I'm writing to you as a lifelong Democrat and proud American. However, I am absolutely disgusted by the weakness and lack of leadership from Democrats in the Senate. Stating that Democratic politicians should wait for Trump to make a mistake while he's literally shattering democratic norms? Are you kidding me? This is not a normal presidency. He intends to turn the country into an authoritarian dictatorship while his corporate oligarch friends raid the treasury. If you think saying you're going to enact legislation (when you won't because you're in the majority) will fix this, then you are even more clueless than I thought. It's an outright assault on democracy and borderline coup and should be treated as a five alarm fire. The only Democrats who are showing any spine are AOC and Brian Schatz- they're taking to social media and making public spectacles... that is what needs to happen because America has no idea what is going on. You must grind things to a halt in the Senate. No unanimous consent, no votes for every nominee.... Republicans can always figure out how to act in the minority while Democrats are lost in the weeds. Fight for this country and democracy or retire so someone else can. Earn your constituents' respect by doing the right thing.
