I saw an article on NPR this morning reporting on how 19 states’ and DC’s minimum wages were going up, many north of $15/hour - hooray! I eagerly scrolled down to look for how much PA had voted to increase and… we were not on the list. Our minimum wage remains a shameful $7.25/hour (and a truly jaw-dropping $2.83 for tipped workers). We know the incoming federal administration will be doing less to protect people experiencing poverty and wealth inequality (or actively working to increase wealth inequality), so it’s on our state legislature to make this better.
