It’s Time for New Democratic Leadership

To: Sen. Blumenthal, Rep. Courtney, Sen. Murphy

From: A constituent in East Haddam, CT

November 6

I am writing to urge you to oppose Chuck Schumer continuing as Senate Democratic Leader and to support new leadership that can rebuild our party and restore voters’ confidence in the Democratic Party. The recent blue wave election results, including victories by a new generation of progressive Democratic candidates, send a clear message: voters want change. They are looking for leaders who will fight for working families, stand up to powerful interests, champion economic fairness, and offer a bold, hopeful vision for the future. We cannot ignore the lessons of losing the presidential election to Donald Trump twice. The answer cannot be more of the same leadership, the same strategies, and the same politics that have left so many voters feeling disconnected from our party. Democrats need leaders who are willing to listen, take risks, embrace new ideas, and give people a reason to believe in our party again. We need to look forward, not backward. I urge you to stand with the voters calling for change and support a new generation of Democratic leadership.
