Banning TikTok is wrong, ham-handed, and won't solve any of the problems the bill purports to. TikTok is an important app for transparency, creativity, business development, and intellectual freedom. While TikTok certainly has privacy concerns, so do all social media platforms. Ban Tiktok off government devices, sure, but not for everyone in the US, that's ridiculous. This feels like Congress is upset that people are seeing through all the smokescreens because of our access to unfiltered information and wanting to keep us in the dark. We'd rather keep our democracy, thanks. Vote no on banning TikTok.
