SEPTA must get its funding. The elimination of 5 regional rail lines on top of sunsetting many bus routes will decimate the Philadelphia region. Not all people are fortunate to afford a car or take a taxi; public transportation makes Southeastern PA a reachable destination for everyone. Funding robust public transportation allows countless people to go to work, school, or just navigate their lives. The last thing Philadelphia needs is more traffic and more greenhouse gas emissions. And if SEPTA is forced to institute a 9pm end time for rail travel, most nightlife from restaurants to theater will suffer greatly. Unless each resident in our Commonwealth will receive a free car with unlimited gas and a dedicated parking space, a fully-funded SEPTA is the only solution.
