Dr. Oz MUST Resign Due to Epstein Association

To: Sen. McCormick, Sen. Fetterman, Rep. Kelly

From: A constituent in Meadville, PA

February 12

I’m writing as a Pennsylvania constituent to urge you to publicly call for Dr. Mehmet Oz to resign immediately from his federal post. Recent releases of “Epstein files” by the U.S. Department of Justice have renewed public scrutiny of powerful people who continued engaging with Jeffrey Epstein long after his 2008 conviction as a sex offender. In Dr. Oz’s case, reporting indicates DOJ-released materials include correspondence involving Oz and Epstein, including an email dated in 2016—years after Epstein’s conviction. Separately, circulating images purport to show an invitation connected to a 2016 social event. If this document is authentic, it is disqualifying on its face; and even if some details remain redacted or require verification, the existence of continued contact in that time period is alarming and unacceptable for any public official. Leadership over critical programs like Medicare and Medicaid requires unimpeachable judgment and public trust. Pennsylvanians should not have to wonder whether a senior federal health official exercised basic moral discernment when dealing with a convicted sex offender whose predation relied on social access and normalization. I’m asking you to take the following actions immediately: 1. Publicly call for Dr. Oz’s resignation (or removal) based on any verified evidence of continued association with Epstein after his conviction. 2. Demand a formal review by HHS leadership and the relevant oversight bodies into Oz’s contacts, invitations, travel, and any favors, introductions, or benefits connected to Epstein. 3. Push for maximum transparency while protecting survivors’ privacy—specifically, release or clarify non-victim-identifying information needed to confirm authenticity and context of the 2016 communication. 4. Hold or request oversight hearings to ensure anyone who enabled or legitimized Epstein’s access to social and professional circles is held accountable. Please respond with what steps your office will take and whether you will call for Dr. Oz’s resignation. Pennsylvania deserves officials who will draw a clear line: no excuses, no minimization, and no continued service for people who helped legitimize Epstein after he was already a convicted sex offender.
