As a resident of California, with some of the highest housing prices in the nation, if I ever want to buy a house for my family, I will need the help of a program like the SPCPs just terminated by Bill Pulte. Congress can act to reinstate these programs. And they should. I have friends and neighbors who bought with this assistance. They are stable, attentive, valued members of their community. We need more homebuyers like them, not less. Please restore opportunities for first-time homebuyers. This is a cornerstone of the American Dream.
