No more funding for Iran wars! Not only because it was illegally started without approval from Congress; or that the daily expenditures could solve our housing and/or health care crises (which it could!) not only because we have no business using military force to force regime change anywhere BUT ALSO because of the lasting effects our military actions are having on climate change!!! The amount of climate effecting gases release by our strikes will cause climate impacts for the unforeseeable future! As per todays Guardian, “Every missile strike is another downpayment on a hotter, more unstable planet, and none of it makes anyone safer,” said Patrick Bigger, a research director at the Climate and Community Institute and a co-author of the analysis. “Every refinery fire and tanker strike is a reminder that fossil‑fuelled geopolitics is incompatible with a livable planet. This war shows, yet again, that the fastest way to supercharge the climate crisis is to let fossil fuel interests dictate foreign policy.” Use every tool in your toolkit, to turn this nightmare around. Senator Collins, hold the purse strings! We the people do NOT want this war!!!!
