Abolish ICE

To: Sen. Schumer, Sen. Gillibrand

From: A constituent in Brooklyn, NY

January 27

I am a constituent writing to urge Senator Schumer to whip his entire caucus to vote NO on any appropriations bill for the DHS that fails to rein in ICE. I am disgusted that the DHS has hand-waved the fourth amendment to justify unlawful entries into our homes. I'm consistently outraged by the daily abuse and kidnappings committed by ICE and CBP. And I am heartbroken and angered by the murder of Alex Pretti. This is not what a functioning immigration system looks like. This is domestic terrorism sponsored by the US government. Democrats must use their leverage to: - Require CBP to return back to border work and play NO part in ICE operations. - Require DHS to follow the law: unmask, wear ID, & show a signed Judicial warrant for every arrest. - Require DHS agents to be trained in civil protest protocols and respect our first amendment rights. - Call for the removal of Kristi Noem - Codify that the DHS is barred from blocking state and local investigations. I expect Senator Schumer to hold firm to his commitment to vote NO until there are guarantees that ICE and DHS terror and violence will be reined in. And I want Gillibrand to support everything noted above. Thank you.
