The American people are rightfully outraged about the Trump administration's attempts to undermine Social Security by creating needless burdens and barriers to accessing earned benefits. While the White House has been forced to partially walk back plans to require millions more to visit overcrowded field offices for in-person verification, this is just a starting point. The administration must fully reverse these senseless policies, cancel plans to close field offices, and properly staff the Social Security Administration instead of pushing out employees. This partial victory demonstrates the power of the people when we fight to protect our Social Security system. Americans have made their voices heard through rallies, town halls, and contacting their representatives. However, the battle is not over - we must continue applying pressure to defend and strengthen Social Security against any and all attacks. The American people rely on these hard-earned benefits, and we will not allow destructive actions that jeopardize their financial security. We demand the administration safeguard and fortify Social Security for current and future generations.
