I am writing to express my concern regarding the recent actions of the House Budget Committee around the “big beautiful bill” that includes significant proposed cuts to essential programs, including those for healthcare, education, and social services, which I believe would have devastating impacts on our community and nation as a whole. As someone who is deeply concerned about the well-being of all citizens, I urge you to take a strong stance against these cuts and work toward protecting and expanding vital public services. Reductions in funding for programs that support low-income families, healthcare access, nutrition, and education will disproportionately harm the most vulnerable among us (especially children, mothers, seniors, and veterans), deepening inequality and exacerbating social and economic challenges. I believe it is crucial that we prioritize investing in our communities and ensuring that everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive. Instead of cuts to these critical services, I encourage you to advocate for policies that promote long-term economic stability, social equity, and the well-being of all Americans, especially those who rely most heavily on government support, like our veterans. I urge you to take immediate action to reject these harmful cuts and support a budget that prioritizes people over partisan interests. Please know that I, along with many others in our district, are closely watching this issue and expect you to stand with us in defending vital programs that help create a fair and just society.
