I can't believe I'm sending this to you when there are objectively more critical things to be done, but who knows, maybe it can repair polarization. Specifically, it's Spring again, where the clocks jump forward by an hour for essentially no good reason. These jumps, and their corresponding backwards leaps in the fall do no effective good for the nation or the world as a whole. It makes international scheduling even harder than normal, it confuses domestic animals, and it upsets children going to school. But even more than that, it directly leads to many deaths per year from coronary issues and road glare changing dramatically week over week. This is far too much a cost to pay for something that's effectively optional. To that end, let's move to permanent daylight time. There's no benefit from shifting every few months and many costs.
