I’m writing to demand that Congress take immediate and uncompromising action to protect HIV research from the dangerous, conspiratorial rhetoric being pushed by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and others like him.
RFK Jr.’s long history of AIDS denialism is not only appalling—it’s deadly. His public claims recklessly dismiss decades of scientific progress and endanger the lives of millions of people. This is not just misinformation; it is calculated disinformation that undermines public trust in medicine and endangers vulnerable communities. His platform has grown, and with it, the threat to public health.
HIV research is not a political bargaining chip. It is the foundation of decades of life-saving medical advancement. Letting RFK Jr. and others distort this work without a clear and forceful response from Congress is nothing short of complicity. The science is not up for debate, and silence in the face of this anti-science crusade is unacceptable.
We need strong leadership that doesn’t flinch in the face of pseudoscience and propaganda. Stop the spread of disinformation. Defend the work of scientists and public health experts. Protect the communities who have fought and suffered for far too long.
The stakes are high, and the time to act is now.
