Please oppose online age verification mandates

To: Sen. Schumer, Sen. Gillibrand, Rep. Mannion

From: A verified voter in Syracuse, NY

May 25

I am writing to urge you to oppose any legislation that requires online age verification. These laws force citizens to submit government identification or biometric data simply to access lawful speech online. Tying real world identity to internet activity undermines the long standing principle of anonymous speech, which protects whistleblowers, journalists, abuse survivors, and ordinary people seeking sensitive information. Constitutional protections do not disappear online. Please defend free expression and oppose age verification mandates.
