As your constituent, I am writing with great disappointment and rage. Eight of your Democratic colleagues voted not only to reopen the government, giving up all possible leverage But also voted to pay out half a million dollars to their Republican colleagues who supported Donald Trump's efforts around January 6th. Not only is this a betrayal on their part, but honestly on yours as well. The reality is that anyone in the Senate read this bill, actually read it Would have seen that provision. Why were you not screaming from the rooftops? It is expected that the eight senators in question would betray us, their records are full of it. But now, it is clear that this was able to be done without any reaction or response from you. How could you let the whip of your party in the Senate betray us? Why is he still the whip? I currently see absolutely no reason to support any sitting Senator, and that includes you now. If there is any chance of redemption for a single member of the Democratic party, call on your colleagues who did this to resign. The fact that the majority of the eight were from the New England delegation is even more shameful. Your literal neighbors betrayed us. How can any of us trust any politician, even a Democrat? This is spinelessness is the most recent attack on our democracy. Unless you are actively and openly calling for the resignation of all eight of these senators, you are not on our side.
