Safeguarding Democratic Governance Against Extra-Constitutional Actions

To: Rep. Bergman, Sen. Slotkin, Sen. Peters

From: A constituent in Beulah, MI

September 6

To my Elected Officials: I am writing to demand proactive legislative measures to protect our constitutional democracy from any coordinated overreach or disruption by rogue elements within the executive branch, military, intelligence agencies, or private technology sectors. The American people must have direct legal mechanisms to hold actors accountable if they undermine the rule of law. We need strong legal shields to ensure transparency and accountability. I urge you to sponsor and support legislation that establishes the following: • Civilian Right of Action: Create an explicit federal statutory right for citizens to bring mass class-action lawsuits against any individual official, military leader, or private entity who violates their oath of office by disrupting constitutional governance. • Automatic Declassification and Transparency: Mandate the immediate public release of all internal communications, operational directives, and data logs from the Pentagon, CIA, FBI, and collaborating tech firms if any unauthorized or extra-constitutional actions are taken against civilian oversight. • Stripping of Immunity and Funding: Pass strict laws ensuring that any official or private contractor involved in bypassing the civilian chain of command automatically loses all qualified immunity, faces immediate termination, and is permanently barred from receiving federal funds or contracts.
The governance of this country belongs strictly to the people under the framework of the U.S. Constitution. I expect you to act now to codify these civilian protections into federal law.
