Oppose the Kids Online Safety Caucus and their bills!

To: Sen. Warnock, Rep. Carter, Sen. Ossoff

From: A constituent in Hinesville, GA

November 28

The Kids Online Safety Caucus would endanger privacy, encryption, free expression and the nation's cybersecurity with bills like KOSA, the Interstate Obscenity Definition Act, STOP CSAM and the SCREEN Act. As a victim of the Discord data leaks due to mandatory age verification, I fail to see how laws like SESTA and FOSTA are protecting kids and victims of trafficking, grooming, and AI-produced CSAM. Victims are silenced and prosecuted with laws like SESTA and FOSTA still in effect. The proponents of laws like these even admitted that the true purpose was to punish outgroups and censor speech they found distasteful. Obscenity laws, age verification, SESTA and FOSTA have failed victims for generations. It's time to oppose this new slew of bills that would punish millions more with surveillance, censorship, and endanger minors further while making access easier for predators and exploiters.
