The Energy Star program has been an instrumental force in driving energy efficiency improvements across numerous product categories for over two decades. Its clear labeling and stringent certification requirements have empowered consumers to make informed choices, driving market demand for more efficient appliances, electronics, and building materials. Allowing the Energy Star program to lapse would undermine years of progress in reducing energy waste and associated emissions. We urge maintaining robust funding and rigorous standards for the Energy Star program to continue delivering substantial cost savings for households and businesses while mitigating the environmental toll of inefficient energy use. Energy efficiency remains one of the most cost-effective pathways to a sustainable energy future.
