We cannot allow ICE to detain children. Children CANNOT be treated the same as adults. Even if they are not citizens. Especially if they are not citizens. How we treat the most vulnerable in our society is a reflection of who we are as human beings and who we are as a nation. We have failed. We have allowed children to be housed in detention centers that are being operated as for profit business. We have allowed them to be hel d there without supervision from local government and human and family services. I have seen government officials turned away and at times even attacked and arrested for trying to carry out their oversight duties. This can not be allowed to continue. Our friends, fmaily neighbors and coworks live in fear or are being detained and sent away. Some are dying in the streets. This dystopia cannot be the country I grew up in. The melting pot that promised the chance at a better life. Opportunity and freedom for all. ey, greed and power. These people have been vilified so that people can turn a blind eye as they are kidnapped, killed, raped and abused for the the sake of politics and mon Please help stop this. Please give me back the America I loved and believed in. With freedom and liberty for all.
