You need to publicly condemn President Trump's remarks at his Nebraska rally, where he told a cheering crowd to "let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego." These are not the words of a commander in chief — they are an invitation for a foreign adversary to strike American cities and kill American people. Los Angeles is the second-most populous city in this country. San Diego is home to Naval Base San Diego, the principal homeport of the U.S. Pacific Fleet. Trump wasn't describing a hypothetical threat — he was dismissing the lives of millions of Americans as a "small price to pay."
Even Republican congressional candidate Jim Desmond, a Navy veteran running in San Diego, said plainly: "No American city is expendable, and no American family should ever be treated as collateral damage." If a Republican candidate can say that, you can too. Silence on this is not neutrality — it's complicity. Speak up, on the record, and make clear that no president gets to treat American lives as acceptable losses.
