I’m writing because Tennesseans deserve better than another reckless march toward war. President Trump’s actions toward Iran are dangerous, and we’ve seen exactly where this road leads—lost lives, broken trust, and working families left holding the bill.
I understand the cost of war because I’ve lived it. I served 21 years in the Army, and my son served in the Navy. This isn’t abstract to me. These are real people, real families, and real consequences that don’t end when the headlines move on.
Here at home, residents are already stretched thin. Groceries, housing, healthcare—it’s all going up. And now we’re supposed to pay for another open-ended conflict? After 20 years of war, we should have learned something.
Tennessee is home to thousands of veterans and military families. We know what it means to serve—and what it costs. We don’t send our sons and daughters into harm’s way without a clear mission, accountability, and the full weight of Congress behind that decision.
You have a responsibility to act—not sit on the sidelines.
Block any funding for this war.
Use your War Powers authority to force a vote and bring this to the floor.
Hold this administration accountable for actions that put lives at risk and undermine our Constitution.
Will you do your job and stand up for the people you represent?
I’ll be watching, and so will many across Tennessee.
