I am writing to demand that you vote yes today on SJ Res 34 and SJ Res 41, both of which are Joint Resolutions of Disapproval to block US arms sales to Israel that clearly violate the Foreign Assistance Act and the Arms Export Control Act. We cannot continue to use our tax dollars for a government that has killed nearly 60,000 Palestinians and wounded over 143,000 others, most of whom are women, children, and the elderly.
The two million people in Gaza are at stage 5 malnutrition, which means they need not just food, but specialized medical care to survive, and Israel still refuses to let in enough aid. More journalists have been killed in this genocide than in any other modern conflict; every hospital has been bombed; aid workers have been massacred; dozens of children are killed daily. Even IOF soldiers have started coming forward, admitting to being ordered to shoot innocent civilians at aid sites, and have told us of their concerns regarding total lack of ethics shown by their own army and government. Israel has announced its plans to ethnically cleanse Gaza by destroying all homes and infrastructure and forcing everyone into a small ghetto in the ruins of the city, threatening their lives, bombing them, starving them, hoping they’ll die, and then deporting the rest. Why are we giving Israel money and weapons to commit war crimes?
We need to end the flow of US weapons fueling these atrocities. I look forward to seeing how the senator votes on these critical, life-saving resolutions.
