Vote NO on SB 100. This bill prohibits the flying of flags other than the flags they seem as 'appropriate' or acceptable. It also allows the use of FORCE to protect the US flag. Since when is the US and our state a dictatorship meant to keep us in line? Since when is following the law and calling on police not enough when enforcing the law? This would allow unprecedented consequences if someone were to even accidentally fly a US flag incorrectly or imperfectly. This could allow children in elementary school to be punished for even the smallest mistake when they are just learning how to attach the flag to the pole. That is incomprehensible. I cannot imagine the amount of people who would be allowed too willing to cause harm due to this bill. Also, what the bill accepts as a reasonable flag now could change tomorrow. The Pride flag, the Florida flag, Military flags, MIA/POW, those could all be denied when many of our Floridians are those very things. We have so many flags that deserve to be flown, to be acknowledged, to be respected. Not over the US flag, of course, but the government needs to acknowledge these people exist. Say no to SB100.
