Restore military aid for Ukraine to counter Russian aggression

To: Sen. Peters, Sen. Slotkin, Rep. Huizenga

From: A constituent in Portage, MI

March 4

The decision to pause military aid to Ukraine is deeply concerning and jeopardizes their ability to defend against the ongoing Russian invasion. This critical assistance, including air defense systems, intelligence support, and arms deliveries, has been vital in allowing Ukraine to push back against Russia's aggression. Halting these supplies leaves Ukraine vulnerable and emboldens Russia to potentially make further territorial gains. As a trusted ally, the U.S. has a moral obligation to stand by Ukraine in its fight for sovereignty and self-determination against an unprovoked attack. Abandoning this commitment not only endangers millions of Ukrainian lives but undermines America's credibility on the global stage. A negotiated settlement favoring Russia's interests at the expense of an independent Ukraine would be an unacceptable violation of democratic principles. The United States must swiftly reverse course, immediately restore military assistance to Ukraine, and leverage its diplomatic weight to pressure Russia to end its illegal war of conquest. Anything less risks enabling further carnage and emboldening authoritarianism over freedom. Upholding our values and protecting a stalwart partner defending its homeland should be a paramount priority. I urge you to take decisive action to ensure Ukraine maintains the capabilities to repel Russian aggression and bring about a just resolution to this conflict.
