I am writing as a concerned constituent to urge you to take immediate action to pressure the President to recall the military and National Guard units currently deployed in California and other states in response to recent protests.
There is no insurrection. These are not acts of war. What we are witnessing are largely peaceful demonstrations—Americans exercising their Constitutionally guaranteed First Amendment rights to assemble, to protest, and to demand justice from their government. While there have been isolated incidents of damage or unrest, they remain within the scope of what local law enforcement can and should handle. The presence of armed military personnel in our streets is an unacceptable and dangerous escalation.
Deploying the military against the American people sets a deeply troubling precedent. It undermines the very foundation of our democracy and sends a chilling message to those who dare to speak out. The use of military force in response to peaceful protest is not only unjustifiable—it is profoundly un-American.
I urge you to speak out forcefully, to demand transparency from the administration, and to use all legislative and political means at your disposal to bring our troops home. The United States must not become a nation that answers civil discourse with military intimidation.
Please act swiftly.
