Congress can no longer passively watch as Trump's unrestrained tariffs wreak havoc on the economy. They must intervene immediately and reassert their constitutional authority over trade policy. Lawmakers were elected to serve as a check on the president, not cede total control. By demanding justification and reinstating Congressional approval for tariffs, they can prevent further economic damage from Trump's reckless protectionism. Unchecked presidential power on tariffs undermines the nation's interests. Congress has a duty to the American people to take forceful action restraining Trump's economically destructive impulses through all legislative means at their disposal.
