I'm asking you to defend Judge Kasubhai's ruling that blocked Secretary Kennedy's attempt to defund hospitals providing gender-affirming care to trans youth. Kennedy's declaration falsely claimed these treatments "fail to meet professionally recognized standards of health care" when gender-affirming care is safe and scientifically proven, supported by virtually the entire medical establishment. Kennedy tried to bypass legally required procedures and threatened to pull federal funding from any hospital treating kids with gender dysphoria. Hospitals responded by preemptively cutting off care for vulnerable patients. Judge Kasubahi called this exactly what it is: an "unserious" and "unsafe" approach to governance that ignores the rule of law. The administration is now pushing regulations that would strip Medicaid and Medicare funding from hospitals providing this care. A former Trump aide called it a "nuclear weapon." This isn't about protecting children. It's about using federal power to override medical expertise and deny necessary treatment to kids who need it.
