congress Trump’s asking Congress to retroactively approve DOGE’s illegal funding cuts is totally outrageous and shouldn’t be accepted AT ALL. DOGE’s unilateral holdback of funds that Congress approved violated the Impoundment Control Act and the Constitution’s Appropriations Clause. Even thinking about giving after-the-fact approval just endorses this disgusting abuse of power, encouraging this administration to keep ignoring Congress’s control over federal money. They’ve already said they’ll keep asking for approval if they get these cuts passed! The request is a slap in the face of the separation of powers and checks and balances that are the backbone of American democracy. Ignoring this unconstitutional move would be a complete failure on Congress’s part to do its job and uphold the rule of law. Say NO to this request!
