URGENT: H.R. 4255 could delist endangered Mexican gray wolves: and this is a death sentence!!!! H.R. 4255, introduced by Rep. Paul Gosar (AZ), would remove Mexican gray wolves from the Endangered Species Act before recovery goals are met, block them from being listed as "threatened," and override the science-based process that has guided their slow return from near-extinction. (VIDEO @wolfconservationcenter) There are only ~286 Mexican gray wolves left in the U.S. Federal recovery plans require at least 320 wolves sustained for years, with healthy genetic diversity across borders. Mexico's wild population remains critically low. By every legal and scientific measure, Mexican gray wolves are still endangered! This bill is backed by livestock lobbying interests and political pressure. Congress has never before delisted a species that still meets the legal definition of endangered. If this passes, it sets a dangerous precedent that puts all protected species at risk. Say no.
