Speak out against the FTC's retaliatory campaign targeting WPATH and the Endocrine Society. Chief Judge Boasberg just blocked the FTC's Civil Investigative Demands against both organizations, finding the Trump administration acted with "extensive evidence of animus" and "wafer-thin justifications." This wasn't law enforcement — it was a political hit job designed, in the words of an FTC-hired consultant, to make medical associations "lose members" and "lose revenue streams."
The FTC demanded decades of internal communications, financial records, and the names of every clinician involved in developing gender-affirming care guidelines. The WPATH subpoena reached back to 1979 — the year the organization was founded. FTC Chair Andrew Ferguson came into this role having already pledged to "fight back against the trans agenda." That's not a regulator. That's a political operative with a subpoena.
One day, how transgender people are treated in this country will be compared to Jim Crow. The systematic use of federal power to intimidate doctors, silence medical science, and cut off healthcare from a vulnerable population is a civil rights crisis happening right now. History will ask which side you were on. Use your voice and your office to condemn this abuse of federal authority and protect the constitutional rights of these medical organizations.
