Dear Representative, We did it! The United States of America are BLUE! Now the hard work must begin. We are at a critical juncture where a return to the status quo will not suffice. There is too much on the line to lose momentum. If our representatives do not take decisive action to hold the Trump administration accountable and pass needed legislative reforms, we will have wasted this momentous generational shift and voters will not forget! We need a changing of the guard and new, fresh Democratic leadership in Congress to stand up for working Americans and prosecute corrupt politicians and those who have benefited from their illegal activities. Furthermore, a true commitment to justice requires a fundamental shift in our foreign policy. I urge you to push for an immediate divestment from Israel. Achieving these goals requires new vision and leadership. Hakeem Jeffries and Senator Chuck Schumer represents the status quo. Hakeem Jeffries is already saying we need to focus on affordability and not punishment. Hard stop! We cannot squander this once in a generation momentum! We need a new Speaker who will not only pass legislation to improve the lives of Americans (like banning stock trades for elected officials, legislate healthcare reform, getting Citizens United and corporate PAC money out of our elections, banning gerrymandering, taxing the rich, regulating Al, and affirming female reproductive rights) AND also criminally prosecute the flagrant corruption. We have one shot, one opportunity to seize everything we've ever wanted. One moment. Will you capture it or just let it slip? As my representative, I ask you to join the call for new leadership and demand strict legal accountability for political corruption. We look to you to stand up for these vital principles and lead this momentous transition of power. Thank you for your time, consideration, and service to our community.
