No Clemency for Ghislaine Maxwell—Justice is Not for Sale I am writing with a sense of profound urgency regarding news that Ghislaine Maxwell—a woman convicted of the systematic sex trafficking of children—is aggressively campaigning for clemency. This is a moral affront to every survivor of her crimes and a direct threat to the integrity of our justice system. Maxwell’s attempt to trade self-serving information for her freedom is a repugnant display of entitlement. Justice must not be a commodity available for purchase or a political bargaining chip. Furthermore, the allegations of concierge-style treatment at FPC Bryan and the unusual involvement of high-ranking DOJ officials suggest an unacceptable double standard. If Maxwell is granted a pardon or commutation, it sends a message that the powerful are exempt from the consequences of even the most heinous atrocities. I urge you to stand with Representative Jamie Raskin and demand that the administration and the DOJ formally reject any consideration of clemency. We cannot allow a convicted predator to manipulate her way out of a 20-year sentence. I ask that you prioritize the voices of her victims over backroom political deals and ensure that Maxwell serves every day of her sentence.
